9th November 2025

Welcome to St. Paul’s and our Morning Service

If you are a visitor, a warm welcome! Say hello to one of the Stewards on duty and come along and join us for tea or coffee in the Large Hall after the morning service. Our morning service is recorded and will be available on the Church website & YouTube.

Charity Donations this week will be given to East Dunbartonshire Food Bank.

Rev. Fiona Gardner: During this morning’s service, we will hear from Rev. Fiona Gardner.  If you would like to support Epilepsy Scotland and the Coming Home Centre, Fiona’s book Love Song for a Wounded Warrior is available in the Large Hall.  Please take a copy and leave a donation.

Vestry Hour: Vestry Hour takes place on a Wednesday morning (10:00-12:00) in the Minister’s Room. Outwith these times, if you wish to get in touch with Lynsey, please call her mobile (0744 7949301).

Annual Leave: Rev. John MacGregor will be on annual leave from Wednesday, 12 November until Wednesday, 26 November (inclusive).

Prayer Group meets tomorrow evening in the Jubilee Hall from 7:30 pm.

Armistice Day Service: On Tuesday, 11th November at 10:50 am, there will be a short and reflective Armistice Day Service at the War Memorial in the precinct.

Back to Church Sunday – a date for the diary: on Sunday, 30th November, we’re holding a special Back to Church Sunday. Invitations will be available shortly, and everyone will be asked to take one and invite another person to church.

St Paul’s Parish Christmas Outreach: we are again organising an outreach to our Parish this December. The outreach will be in the form of a Christmas Card with an invitation to join us at any of our December Christmas services at St Paul’s. The theme of the Christmas Card is “A place for you this Christmas”. There are around 1800 households in our Parish, and they have been broken down into 4 areas of our Parish for distribution purposes. Help from members of the congregation to deliver the Christmas Cards would be very much appreciated. Volunteer Sign-up sheets will be available at the back of the church. Gordon Fairbrother

The Guild meets tomorrow afternoon (10th November at 2 pm) in the Large Hall, where our Bible Study will be led by Rev. Lynsey Brennan.

The Ark is on this Saturday (15th November 7:30–10:00 pm) in the Large Hall for S1 – S6.  Come along for games, chat, snacks, and general chill time!

Lodging House Mission (LHM) Christmas Cards: these are now available for sale at the back of the church, £4:50 per pack.

Baldernock Parish Church: please join us for an evening of celebration of the life of C.S. Lewis, as we enjoy a film screening of the original “SHADOWLANDS” film, directed by Norman Stone on Saturday 22nd November at 7.00 pm.

The Church Choir at Christmas: has it been ages since you sang in a choir, maybe at school?  Would you enjoy the challenge, enjoyment, and reward of singing Christmas music in the church?  Now's the time to give it a try!  Practices for the Christmas repertoire to be performed by the church choir are on Thursdays from 7.45 pm until 9.15 pm in the church. Last year, we very successfully augmented the choir and we're hoping that even more people will join us this year.  You would be most welcome to come along on any of the Thursday evenings leading up to Christmas. Further details from Derek Norval (07814389262).

St. Paul’s on Tour: all rooms are now taken on the trip to Northumberland, but the waiting list is open. Please contact Anne Ritchie (07811 973 375) if you wish to be included on it.

OMF Newsletter: Lorna Ferguson’s November newsletter is now available at the back of the church.
